gyaaaaa!

Today I've been dragged one step farther down the path of digital-art, with the inking for my current Heroes A2Z book. Rather than messing with micron pens that die after a mere 50 drawings or so, and a pad of tracing paper that certainly won't fit all 122 illustration, I decided to scan in my pencil drawings and ink them in photoshop with my brother's tablet. That thing is so convenient for me! I haven't determined whether this process goes faster or slower-I usually fit two inked drawings on each sheet of tracing paper but I do just one drawing per page in my sketchbook (which means I have to scan twice as many pages for the pencil drawings compared to ink drawings). However, inking in photoshop eliminates the step of cleaning and fixing up the inked drawings after they're scanned. So hopefully overall it'll be faster. It's at least less frustrating than dealing with silly microns.

In other news, I got Skip Beat! 24 today and when I reached the last page I went, "Ohhh NOOOOOOO!!!!!" If I think about it calmly and rationally, it may not be such a bad volume ending, because it's about 5 seconds away from an explosion, and explosions mean stuff happening and hope of things getting resolved (though it's Skip Beat!, so things could get even more messy before they're resolved...). It was a super fun read, either way. Oh my. What fantastic misunderstandings!! What terrifying character interactions!! It's all too good!

Moving on to my third subject for this post, my mum got a call from my grandma yesterday to tell her that the lady we get (or used to get) fresh goat milk from has milk available again!!!! As I recall, her goats stopped giving milk around the beginning of last August, so it's been nearly a year. I've gotten more or less used to drinking almond milk (and more or less given up on cereal in general, actually). But the other day I took a trip to an awesome ice cream parlour down the street with some friends, and was a little bit devastated that I couldn't eat ANY of the delicious-looking flavours on display (they had two kinds of sorbet, so I got lemon with hot fudge on top... it was interesting), I decided that if/when I ever had goat milk available to me again, I totally needed to make my own ice cream/gelato with it. So this morning I looked up recipes. Now I can't wait to try them out!!

On the topic of allergies, it seems my inability to tolerate the indoors has kicked in again. I've been stuffy/sneezy for the last few days, and the only time it relents is when I go outside. (and it's multiple houses/buildings causing the problem-my house, my parents' house, the library...) It's probably some kind of mold. Humidity-activated mold?

allergies, skip beat!, heroes a2z, manga, ice cream
