I was gonna call my mum because she'd emailed me about my yesterday and I wanted to get back to her... but I got the answering machine! So I guess I'll have to call her later. So you get to hear from me instead

Hahahaha! I like this comment. Okay, yes, the first name scene was really great (and when they showed up at VBR and everyone was shocked! at the use of first-names!! I loved that :D). And the confession was very sweet. And of course I squealed when I saw Kazuha and Hina. I guess I thought the miai-crashing was a little silly and contrived (even though it was an excuse for lovely kimono AND glasses-disguises)... and the "more" I wanted to happen was in reference to actual work being done. I like that VBR is a workplace-manga that actually has the characters working (usually). I want more dress-making!
The flashbackiness wasn't so much of my problem with this volume, and on its own it was a very nice brief size (and also super duper cute). If anything, maybe the fact that the last few volumes have been rather flashback-laden is what's made me a bit weary of flashbacks in general. IHY♥ doesn't count as a flashback even though it's now the "past," because the point of flashbacks vs present is that the present has all the characters I like together, and flashbacks have them at different stages of their lives when they're not all together yet.
Honestly, it could just be the art that's making me discontent. The Daily Heaven with Kaie-san and all those folks seemed more like her old style and made me really happy!
