double_dear noticed that it is Cat Day in Japan (2/22) and celebrated by posting a bunch of adorable pictures of their cats. So I wanted to show off kitty photos too!
Chibi is kinda weird in a lot of ways (licking people's hair, staying in weird contortionist positions when distracted, an amazing sense of balance on her hind legs), and one of those ways is how she loves to sit on people's shoulders. If you pick her up, she will climb right up to your shoulders; nowhere else is good. Sometimes this is fun, but other times when I'm not wearing enough layers it can be painful-you can sort of see that she is not afraid to use her claws to maintain her perch. But it keeps my neck nice and cozy!
It looks like we were making shepherd's pie. Yum~
Of course, if you are not standing up she will still find a way to sit on you, just not your shoulders. Having a computer or something else in front of you is also a plus-that feline trait of being as inconvenient as possible is strong with her. My youngest brother Derek is her favourite person when he's home.
Marron, on the other hand, likes to sit on top of inanimate objects and peer down at lower life forms. She used to enjoy the ironing board (referred to as a "rocky craig" whenever my mum spotted her there) but now she is a little fat and has learned that it will tip over if she jumps off too hastily. This is too scary to be endured, so she mostly sticks to chairs.
...I just love this picture in all its epic silliness. (amazingly, this was taken last March! To imagine that our yard might look like this again in less than a month...)
