Oh oh oh, I am so excited tonight. Maybe it is just me. But tonight is a special edition of Daily Fashion with Lys! Sorry if you are all getting bored of this by now. You can ignore it! I'm having fun though :D
It's a slightly larger image than the others. But it's in COLOUR! Yaaaaay~! I wish that I could put these all in colour, but I really don't have time... But I did it this time anyway! Because I thought it was important to the theme of the outfit, which is... fall-ish. Because that's what our weather is. This has been a pretty lame August. Also because I was bored, and figured I wasn't going to get any more actual work done this time of night, so it was either colour this for fun or read manga. And right now I have so much new manga that I can't decide what to read first! (thanks Ysa :D) Oh what a predicament! But I am happy to have it in colour, because it feels like I am introducing you all to my friends. Only they're just clothes. But I still like them. Especially that shirt (which was a pain to colour and draw, with all that pattern nonsense. but it was worth it).
Ummm. Oh also, today I worked!! At Flowerland, I mean. For like the first time in 2 or 3 weeks? And I realized, Cashier-Princess mode comes out the strongest when (1) I haven't been a cashier for a longish period of time and (2) the day is slow and (3) I am working alone or with a new cashier. A slow day gives me time to relish the joy of helping each individual customer; working alone or with someone new makes me feel all happy and knowledgeable. Hahaha. So, today was a Cashier Princess day!! Thus crown and sparkly-magical scanner beam.
Oh, the other thing I wanted to write about was...
Skip Beat! 18! (it's spoilery though)
This was one thing I knew I wanted to read first when I got a big box of manga recently :D I made myself wait until I got it to read it, even though I knew it was available at the library~!! So it was a good volume. It made me laugh so much I couldn't read for a minute, a couple times. I was so ready to hate Koo! But then he became adorable!!! And it temporarily turned into a Food Manga!! (I love when regular manga series turn into Food Manga. Like My Heavenly Hockey Club...) Oh, Koo! (tangentially, I've seen complaints about Koo being Koo and not Kuu. personally, I think it's fine (p'raps because i never got used to it being different in scanlations or whatever?) Assuming he was an actor in the US, it's not surprising he would choose a nonstandard, easier-for-silly-americans-to-pronounce spelling. I mean, u and oo are about the same, but it just seems more american to use oo than uu. so there. also, "koo" is funny :D like him :D)
Also, Lory was awesome awesome awesome. (the other day my mum was trying to think of the name of a certain bird, and I said "lorikeet?" and she was like "yes!! but how did you know that?!" and... I couldn't admit it was because of a manga (i'd heard of lorikeets before lory, but because of lory they had a stronger impression in my mind, or something)).
The one thing is, though, Kyoko? Figure out what's up with Corn, already. I don't care if you take another 5, even 10 volumes to figure out who you're in love with, but you need to make the connection with Corn. There's just TOO many coincidences going on here.
It was pretty awesome seeing her become Corn though, anyway. Hee. And I like that she's Learning Things about Acting again? Though I still worry for her, since the point of the assignment she was given was to create a character from nothing, and yet she ended up (coincidentally) basing it on exactly the person it was actually supposed to be. But toward the end she started to move in a different direction of her own creation, so I guess that's good? Anyway. It was a totally hilarious couple of chapters. The breakfast scene... ahaha. And then there were the "I've never experienced such kindness in my life and i don't know what to do!!!" tears of joy that make my heart fill with love for our charming protagonist. Every time. That's our formidable Kyoko♥
Sho... Sho, how dare you look so cool!!!! Arg!!!
And Ren doesn't make sense to me right now. I can't figure out how he went from fairy-prince Corn to psycho-violent-kid as is hinted in volume 17.
And aaaaaaaaaaaaah I want volume 19!!! One... more month? (on the basis that it is nearly September and v19 is out in October)
For dinner we had smiles and scrambled eggs with lots of herbs. It was very warm and yummy and good. And then I got a yummy mocha caramel at Biggby Coffee where my brother was working. It was also very warm and yummy and good. And then I coloured my picture. And now I'm going to sleep, for tomorrow will be another fun and busy day! (going to see Ponyo with brndn!! then a dinner thing at my aunt's! yay!)
