Too much caffeine. Way too much.

Berlin was ridiculously awesome; the weekend basically consisted of one history orgasm after another (Ishtar Gate! The history nerd in me wept). I really didn't want to leave so soon, although it was oddly disconcerting that everyone around me was speaking a language I knew next to nothing about (what I did learn, however, was what "ausgang" means and how to spell "danke schön" correctly); I also kept spending all my money on chocolate - you honestly haven't lived until you've tasted white chocolate with cinnamon and cocoa. ♥

The fabulous atfm and I, of course, watched last week's Criminal Minds episode together on Thursday, and it really couldn't have been a bigger downer (even though it was nothing short of fantastic to see it together). Seriously, show. What the heck?

- Reid, CUT YOUR HAIR. It's so fugly now.

- Such a ridiculous case, but the idea of not being able to move while still seeing, hearing, and feeling everything is really awful and disturbing.

- A Gideon reference! I still adore you, continuity.

- "My wife has diabetes." Well, of course. Also, we both thought that the girl going for the phone first was just weird. Wouldn't the priority be a) getting the others off the drug, or b) getting the hell out of that place ASAP?

- Yes, I was moved by the "reunion" in the end. The actress who played the unsub did a fine job.

1. It's like a clingy ex-girlfriend you can't get rid of.

The fringe, that is. Wouldn't it be the time to change the opening credits already? In their present state, they only remind us of terrible mistakes and misjudgments made in the past.

Sweet Jesus, who in their right mind thought that was a good idea?? And now it's like an unbeatable fungus, still looming under the surface.

2. This episode is all about JJ.

Because damn, the girl looks fine! Not that she's usually hideous in any way, but everything's just perfect in this one - the side fringe & the ponytail bring the hotness of the epic kind!

JJ's frown is totally adorable as well. And good GOD, that powersuit looks good on her. Major bonus points, wardrobe department, major bonus points.

3. A lesson learned, obviously.

Remember that godawful post-production text message Morgan supposedly received a few episodes back? Yeah, none of that in this one.

Definitely better, although it still looks a bit ridiculous. Shouldn't JJ be tech-savvy enough to not use capslock while typing text messages?

4. Let Emily show you how it's done.

Emily always figures out the important shit. How come no one else realised that, umm, the unsub just might be a woman? Clearly, because Emily is the most talented and intuitive of them all.

She's like "D'uh." If the profile clearly says 'female', how come Emily's the only one considering the possibility? Odd.

5. And this would be the permanent gay pose.

She obviously can't help herself and standing in a non-dykey way is an impossibility.

The hand-in-trouser-pocket thing is becoming a habit - something I'm definitely not against. I'm surprised we haven't seen it already earlier, actually.

6. There sure are various kind of tragedies.

Of all the stressors we've been introduced to during the run of the show, this one takes the cake, hands down.

Rossi: Actually, we think she's collecting dolls.
Reid: Technically, replacing them. We believe she lost the originals within the last three months, and this is what served as a stressor.

I...I have nothing. Major LOLs.

7. Curtesy FAIL.

How bloody rude is the local detective? JJ introduces the agents to him, and Emily already has her hand raised, but the detective goes straight to Morgan. He doesn't even glance at her. It's either a mistake by Paget (or someone else involved), or a deliciously subtle way to characterise the detective.

I'd love to think this was done intentionally, because the look on Emily's face when she turns to Morgan clearly says "Brilliant, a member of the chauvinist squad."

8. Here, let me show you my trademark head tilt.

This is so very Emily.

She does it whenever she's pondering something, usually during a briefing. It's very similar to the infamous finger fiddling (oh, get your mind off the gutter, you pervs!), something Paget probably does somewhat subconsciously.

9. The I-want-you-so-badly-it-hurts look.

Two things about this scene. One. Emily looks rather uncomfortable with the dolls. Do what you will with that (i.e. this was probably more her cup of tea growing up). Two. The look on JJ's face when she's looking at Emily is pure GUH-ness.

Holy crap. That last cap = "I am so hot for you right now that I'd jump your bones if this damn wall didn't stand between us." Then Reid, that damn weasel with fugly hair, speaks up and forces JJ out of her happy place.

But boy, that was one glorious and subtext-laden second.

10. The 'Emily + suit jacket' combo never gets old.

Oh, the undeniable hotness. She's clearly travelling with an entire wardrobe, though.

And a lovely nose scrunch as a bonus. Ogling this woman will never get old. Never, ever, EVER.

Next week Tomorrow: A JJ backstory episode - the one we've been waiting for since "North Mammon" three(!) seasons ago.

Speaking of Criminal Minds, seeing the various pics of Matthew Gray Gubler with Jane Lynch at the 2010 Golden Globes fills my heart with cuteness. It's also a fandom collision of the mind-bender type now that Jane is on Glee (she so should've won her category, IMO).

And now, onto the million and one other TV episodes and other videos that are waiting to be watched. I'm so high on caffeine that I don't even care it's after 3am and I need to get up in about four hours. Fandom is such srs bzns.

But, before I head over to the land of Kahlan Amnell, I need to pay homage to all the wonderful charities for Haiti that so many people on my flist are involved in. jetgirl78's wonderful project is only one of the marvellous examples of people's goodwill; besides, who in their right mind would be able to resist Sandra Bullock and Meryl Streep together in a single picture? Thought so. Go. Participate. Help.
