I was talking to Patrick the other day about how “feminine” is viewed in so many different ways. For instance…some people assume that ALL women should have children and ALL women have a maternal instinct. Some people feel that of course not ALL women have a maternal instinct and therefore it would be a selfish act for them to have a child. ( Read more... )

So ironic..... spunkeekitty November 9 2004, 13:46:22 UTC
I just had almost the same exact conversation with Jay today ! It started by him calling from work to see what I was doing. I was actually hanging border on the walls in our dining room and told him I wasn't sure if I liked it. He asked why ? And the only thing I could figure was because it had flowers on it !?!?! I'm not a very flowery girl. I don't like frills and all things pink. Does that make me not "feminine" or "girly" ? Sometimes I think so. And growing up I always loved my brother's toys and loved to get dirty....today I love Nascar, Football, Baseball, Hockey and yes still love a good mud pie ! There are lots of things I do or like that aren't "cool" to most girls. But that's what makes me unique....makes me, ME. I do have that maternal instinct and I love sappy movies ! I don't like dressing up but loved being in my wedding dress ! I believe everyone has a feminine side and a manly side being a woman or a man. We just tend to show one side more than the other, which ever that may be. So, "Yes Jamie" you ARE feminine.....amd manly. As is the same I'm sure for Patrick & Jason.

Make sense ?

I totally agree with Patrick's response ! Alot of woman feel they "have" to be feminine, those woman are most likely not comfortable with them selves and their life. Woman need to be who they want to be ! Not let society pick their destiny.

I think you are very feminine in all ways. I think you are prettier and more feminine than a thousand "Nancys" combined. I think you like what you like, but I don't think you are manly at all. I think it was in the heart of a woman to play in the dirt....way before a man got the idea. Anyways...although I get your point exactly...I don't think either of us have "manliness" in us. I think being a woman is something sacred and pure and independent. I think if there are gods we are closer to them then men will ever be....This is what I think. Anyways...I don't have many friends...because I can't stand most people...but you are one in a million Shelby...and the "woman" in you shines through and through.
