I just had the oddest experience of this summer thus far. I'm not sure if me sunbathing shirtless this afternoon had something to do with the sudden knocking of two giggling boys and their puppy on my door this evening, but I expect it is karma working against me or something. There was at the very least a few hours between the incidences, but I am still not pleased. They were very nice little boys, though.

John and Nathan, 10 and 9, and apparently cousins from far up the dirt road I live secluded on. I must have just sat with them for a few hours, letting the kids chat constantly while I wondered if working at the summer program these past three years has suddenly given me skills with children I did not have last summer. I gave them papers for the program I work at, telling them to tell their parents as they finally left, walking back up the old road, but I expect not to see them.

Which is a shame, because they really were nice kids. Nathan was absolutely adorable- I just wanted to ruffle his hair and tell him that liking pink and butterflies was absolutely fine, even if John liked tigers better.

Augh. Now I must go tend to my sunburn and prepare balloons for Monday's program.

rural towns are full of crazies, really long entries ahoy, eeeeeeer..., lolrl, small children and big puppies
