Conan + Predecessor!
Saw Conan O'Brien at Radio City Music Hall on June 1st. Show was awesome. My seats were in the very back, but no big, I mean I know what Conan looks like. Plus he's sporting that weird beard right now. Opening act was Reggie Watts, who mixed a beat live and then rapped about....snowy owls? Special guests were Vampire Weekend, who performed a song with Conan (did not know he played guitar so well); Deon Cole, one of Conan's writers; Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert had a dance off with Conan. Bill Hader, Jon Krasinski and Paul Rudd pulled the Walker Texas Ranger Lever. The masturbating bear was re-dubbed the self pleasuring panda and Triumph the insult comic dog was in the program. My friend 120nightsofjoey and her bf went to the second show and said Peewee Herman and Eli Manning appeared, along with Jon Krasinski again.
In other news, I heard from my JET predecessor! Whose name is also Ashley....coincidence?! Anyway, thank god I'm starting to get some solid info about all this. Bombarded her with questions earlier today and hopefully I'll get some answers (and maybe some pictures) about the apartment and stuff. Also got some info about the Tokyo Orientation; we're staying at the Keio Plaza Hotel! Snazzy. Although from what I hear you don't get a lot of free time to roam.
