“Why do I let myself get talked into these things?” Chloe muttered to herself, taking a sip of her champagne.
“Because you find me charmingly irresistible.” Neal said appearing next to her, his hand coming to rest on her waist, as he pulled her closer.
“Actually it was Mozzie who talked me into it, I was happy to tell you no. Does that mean I find him charmingly irresistible?”
“Well your taste in men has always kind of leaned towards the geeky side. Mozzie would fit that. And it would make me feel better about all the times you roll your eyes at me.”
“I keep telling you Neal, you’re not as charming as you think you are.”
“I have many references that will tell you otherwise.”
“And have you bribed these references?”
“You have such little faith in me Chloe.”
“No, I just know you.”
Neal smiled at that, his blue eyes locking with hers. “That you do.”
His gaze was intense, something behind his smile that she wasn’t ready to know, so she looked away, taking another sip of her champagne.
“But I mean really, you don’t find me a little bit charming?” He asked bringing her attention back to him. “Not even a tiny bit?”
“Nope.” Chloe told him with a grin, “I guess you’ll just have to try harder.”
