Last week I saw that They Might Be Giants was having a concert at the Crystal Ballroom in downtown Portland in November. I tried to get a group of people together to go see them but that ended up being just three of us. That's fine though because it's going to be in the middle of the week so it's understandable that not many people can make it. Ironically of the people going I will be the only one who has to work, but I might take the day off afterwards. I will decided when the time comes closer. Yesterday I officially picked up the tickets so we are all set! :D
Today I picked up two CDs and I only note the acquisitions for my own record. First I picked up the album "Ocean Eye" by
Owl City. Danielle introduced me to the song "Fireflies" when I took her home last weekend and I have had the song stuck in my head since. So I downloaded a few songs to sample on Tuesday at the library. I liked what I heard enough to look for and pick up this album. I have to say that I like all the songs. I don't find anything I don't want to hear. It's really good music. :)
I am amused that Fred Meyer had the music video for "Fireflies" playing on all the TVs just before I left but they don't have a single Owl City CD available to buy. -_- It was still nice to watch the video. :)
The second album I picked up is "In The City" by
Kevin Rudolf. Something about this artist makes me think I wouldn't like them but hearing the music is what sold me. It started with the song "Welcome to the World" which Darren gave me on a compilation CD he gave me. Then Danielle introduced me to the song "Let It Rock". I decided that this was a good enough and also picked up this CD today.
I am pleased that both CDs only cost me $10 each. :)
