Does Dad not realize that paying for a portion of the closing costs is standard practice in selling houses? It's not like he's going to be LOSING money by doing it. mL 9_9
No he does realize that. It's just that he told them that A) he wanted X amount (whatever that is) to pay off the house. So whatever the loan was it had to cover that above and beyond any fees. and B) that he wasn't interested in selling the house because renting it was more profitable so if he didn't like the terms no skin of his back...essentially.
I guess the bank has already raised the closing costs three times starting at $300 and now its at $1300. Yeah, even I think that's egregious.
