Vacation 2009 Day 06

Aug 13, 2009 22:37

I was up again at 8am today. I wanted to get online a little before swimming but it quickly got frustrating when the net was down again. -_- So I gave up quickly and got read to go swimming.

I got out to the pool did some power walking in the pool for about 15 minutes and then swam for the rest of the time until 11am. I headed inside around 11 and got ready for the day. I was ready by 11:30.

As I mentioned yesterday, my daughter lost her wallet somewhere in the Tri Cities. I called the buffet place this morning and found that she had left it there. Now the question was who was going to go get it. I thought that this might be a trip I could invite Lori on. So I called her once I was ready for the day and she was free to go. She said she would be dropping a box off at her husband's work and then would be over.

I spent the time waiting working on Facebook and Gaia stuff. She arrived around 12:30 and after some introductions to my kids we headed out. My mom loaned me her 300M for the day. I brought my DJ and hooked it up to the car for music. Since my daughter was the reason we were on this little trip she was also required to join us. I asked her to bring her iPod just incase mine either gave out or I got tired of messing with it.

After much prodding I finally got my daughter out the door. We didn't get far down the road before discovered that the speakers were blown in the front. -_- If I had known that I would have just taken my car like I had intended to in the first place. It didn't matter that much in the end. After a while I set up the music with my daughter's iPod and set it to the back speakers only. Lori and I didn't talk the whole way but we spent a good deal of time talking. :D

I downloaded and wrote down directions just to make sure I knew where I was going, but I had help from Lori anyway. I don't take that trip very often and there are so many exits and turns it might as well be the San Francisco area. -_- We got there with no missed directions and I had my daughter go in and get her wallet. We followed her in but only to make sure everything went ok.

I planned that we would go to Red Robin for lunch instead of Granny's (since we had just been there yesterday). Lori was fine with that and despite some complaining my daughter was also fine with it. So we headed out and drove up the road to Red Robin.

We were seated right away and I made my daughter sit next to me despite her gripes. ^_^ I got my usual cheese dip and made my daughter get a burger so I could share her fries. I also made sure the bill was split from the beginning so that Lori didn't pay for mine this time. Though now that I think of it I probably should have paid for hers too. I can never seem to decide what's best until later. *sigh*

We spent the time talking and had a lot of fun. It was nice to get to spend more time with Lori. ^_^ We headed out of the restaurant around 3:30. My daughter wanted to go to the mall again but we had already seen it all the day before and there really wasn't much there to see. Besides Lori wanted to get back home.

I actually didn't need the directions much on the way back home and that was nice. I just kept heading for Spokane and we had no issues. ^_^ We spent the trip home talking even more.

When we got home I spent some time talking with Lori and showing her things like the garage and extra cars before she headed out. We briefly discussed the possibility that she might also go to the Dam and bring her family. I told her to give me a call if she decided to go. She headed out around 6pm.

I got online for a while to attempt to write out my journal entry from yesterday but I wasn't having much luck. I kept getting distracted by FB and other things. I ended up doing one of those tagged notes where you pick a favorite band and use the song titles to answer all the questions. I choose TMBG and it worked out so well that I had an easy answer for everything and most of the time I had two. :D

Around 8pm my mom called us into the kitchen for dinner. I guess this time around we aren't having dinner at the kitchen table because yet again we were situated in front of the TV. I really don't like this because it increases the chances that I have to spend dinner watching Law and Order. -_- Oddly enough though my dad was still outside. Mom kept trying to get someone to go out and help. I instead sent my son out to tell him we were inside, hungry and waiting for him. :( We had roast so it was hard to spend the half hour more waiting for dad to come inside. 9_9

I had hoped we would watch the new movie they picked up but dad seemed to be grumpy. Bo had set the TV to the John Stewert show and we just followed through to watch Steven Colbert. Dad spent the time reading a catalog and then just left without eating. 9_9 Whatever, I was tired of his fits long before this. I just ate my food and went to do something else.

I guess he is having trouble with a bank. One of his tenants wants to buy the house from him and he is fine with that but the bank wants him to pay for some of the closing costs. He maintains that he is not THAT interested in selling the place. He wants them to either include all of the closing costs with the loan for the guy paying or he isn't interested. They don't seem to understand this. I don't know what's right but I agree that if he set an amount they should respect that and not try to reduce it. -_-

Anyway when my dad left he headed out to see a movie he didn't think anyone wanted to see. The truth is he never asked and I think he just wanted to be on his own. He left around 9:30.

I finished up dinner and headed into the room to get online or work on my journal entries. I finished up writing the summary for today but didn't finish the entry for yesterday. By 10:30 I was too tired to continue and just headed to bed for the night.
