Grandma Update 2
I talked with grandma a couple of hours ago and she seemed to be doing fine but a little tired. She is resting from the first of two procedures, the second of which will be done tomorrow. Let me back up a bit and add some info from the previous post.
I called grandma on Saturday and was able to talk with her later in the day. She told me about the procedure on Monday and that she should go home Tuesday. She also asked me if I knew that she had a concussion from the fall. I was surprised at that and said no (the doctor at the hospital had said she was doing fine and that they didn't find anything). Apparently the orderlies in the ambulance that took her to CVM in Clackamas told her that on the way down there. I don't remember her exhibiting symptoms of a concussion but if she had one irks me that the doctor told me she was fine. -_-
I called her again today earlier and she wasn't back in the room yet so I said I would call back later. I called a couple of hours ago and got a hold of her. I am surprised that they only did the Angioplasty today. I guess it's because she got into surgery so late. She said her head hurt and that she was tired and exhausted but fine other wise (good ole grandma…always fine even when she's not -_-). Tomorrow she will go in for the pacemaker. Whether she gets out tomorrow will depend on how things are going after the procedures.
I am hoping that they don't just put a pacemaker in and send her on her way. I would think they would want to monitor the outcome for a bit before just sending her out the door. Speaking of that, grandma is worried they will boot her out if someone can't pick her up right away. Apparently they told her that after she is discharged she has to be out of the room within two hours or sit in the lobby to wait for her ride. I would HOPE that they wouldn't move a heart patient into the lobby to sit alone for hours before I am able to drive down there. -_-
I called mom tonight to see if she could possibly be there to pick up grandma tomorrow but apparently whatever movie she was going into was more important (even though there are usually 30 minutes of previews -_-). She said she would call me back to discuss it later after the movie but I will be in bed by then. I hope mom will come down here to help out. Grandma will need close care for awhile I can just can't stop working to help her out (as much as I might like to be that much help).
So I guess despite the update I don't have a ton of new information. I will keep this updated with more as I know it.
