Today I was talking with the regular delivery guy and made a joke pertaining to customer service (what's the special here? The service!). He mentioned in passing that he used to both work as a waiter at Sherris and as the general manager of Tower Records in both Seattle and Tacoma.
Of course that opened up a whole new avenue of discussion about Tower Records and music in general. He said he managed them from 1980 to 1992. It was fun to hear about the day to day life of the records stores I used to frequent. ^_^
As part of the music conversation I mentioned that Jethro Tull and Hole. Ok so it turns out the guy grew up in Aberdeen and used to hang out with Courtney Love and others from the groups Nirvana and Pearl Jam. He said the last time he talked with her was a couple of years ago in Portland. She got thrown out of the place they (and a large group of people) were drinking at (sounds about right).
Anyway it's a stretch but it's still cool to find those small connections.
