Republican Lefse

It's just right. :D (it's a joke I came up with at dinner. :D)

I decided to sum up my trip for Thanksgiving this year. I will do my best to keep it short. ^_^

Not much happened really. Friday we headed out as soon as I was off work. My son drove for the first leg of the trip while we listened to The Golden Compass on the MP3 player. We stopped in Olympia at the Capital Mall to eat at Red Robin for dinner. I wanted to try something new and figured it would be a hassle to get a table in Tacoma like usual. It worked out great and was good as usual. The waiter's name was Tyler. ^_^ Bo drove the rest of the way and we listened to the book for as long as I could stay awake. We got to ML around 11:30 pm.

I did some shopping with mom on Saturday. Lunch was Arby's as usual. I couldn't decide what to eat and the guy actually asked me if I wanted something from McDonalds instead. ^_^ We had steak and hash brown casserole that night. We also went to see the newest Bond movie (Quantum of Solace).

Sunday was another lackadaisical day. Lunch was Arby's of course. Mom made up a batch of lefse and I helped her fine tune how to make it. My daughter got into the mix and we were a lefse making machine. ^_^ It was good too. I made it a little thicker than grandma used to and I think that added something to it overall. Dad didn't like that part but he did like the lefse in general. We went to see Twilight before dinner. After the movie I made Okonomiyaki for dinner.

Monday I was up bright and early to go with my mom to her school. We stopped and got Burger King for breakfast before heading to the school. At lunch I drove back to Burger King to pick up lunch. ^_^ I spent most of the time writing on my laptop or reading my manga during the class time. There was one little girl sitting in the back who took a particular interest in me and I helped her with some of her math homework. I talked with mom's student teacher while mom was in a meeting and her kids outside at recess. She wanted to know about my experience with custody of my children. After work we hit Wal Mart for a few things for dinner and two other stops before heading home. Dinner was Swedish meatballs.

Tuesday my daughter went to school with my mom and. I went running with my dad in the morning. I spent most of this day doing nothing at all. I worked on my Deviant Art account whittling down the dev watches that have been piling up. I am down to 600 from 2031. O_O Dinner was pizza ordered in and we watched Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. We hadn't watched it yet. I was a little sore from the chair but otherwise all was well.

Wednesday we had our Thanksgiving. Since I had to head back Thursday we had the dinner a day early. It worked out for the best actually. I went out walking on my own down the road. My dad's routine is fine but he runs too fast near the end and I actually walk farther on my route. For lunch Bo and I went to Taco Time and spent probably 2 hours there. When I got home I helped my mom with both dinner and making more lefse. We managed to double the count with the same sized batch this time and make thinner so my dad was pleased. Dinner was good and we had more than enough food. Dad kept the conversation under wraps so it wasn't as fun as it could have been but that's ok. We did get a few laughs. ^_^ Dad wanted to go out to trivia after dinner but I was exhausted so I went to bed instead.

Thursday I wasn't up early and I wanted to walk again but I passed it off in favor of getting out the door faster. I actually managed to get most of my stuff packed up before we headed to lunch around 1pm. Arby's was open but only until 2pm. After lunch we headed home and packed up the car. We were on our way by 3:15 and the road was more than deserted. I don't think I have seen the freeway that deserted ever. It was kind of nice. We only stopped to use the restroom and for dinner in North Bend. Of course the only thing open was McDonalds. I don't like McDonalds but it was all that was open. I ended up driving the whole trip because I got so into listening the book.

When I got home I went immediately to Ingrid's to pick up the gift-wrap to finish the fake gifts for the tree. I finished up around 2am and headed promptly to bed.
