Time Capsule from 2005

Nov 13, 2008 16:43

In 2005 Forbes magazine offered people the chance to send themselves a time capsule in either 1, 3 or 10 years. Since it was free I signed up to get all three of them. Today I received the 3 year time capsule. It's interesting to see what did change and what did not change and what did not actually happen as expected. ^_^

Here is the Time Capsule as it was sent to me in the email. Enjoy!:

Greetings from your past. In the fall of 2005, you agreed to receive this message, which has been preserved for a year in the Forbes.com E-Mail Time Capsule. For more details, visit http://www.forbes.com/capsule

Here is the text of your message:

Today I just got home from work at [my work]. Life is going ok. It's raining outside.

[My kids] are still in school because I get home earlier than they do. I will be going to pick them up at Monticello in an hour.

I am sending this on my Dell Latitude Laptop listening to my Dell DJ (the third incarnation of the MP3 player).

Bo and I are getting along fine and I am looking forward to getting Christmas presents and getting the kids last names changed to mine in a few weeks. My Livejournal is a good place to remember more.

We still go to Anime meetings in Portland but I have just recently gotten out of office so we are not so strict on going. Tom and Alan are planning a get together in early December where we hope to start adding Board and card games to our regular things to do.

The Washington Square Mall in Beaverton will be opening new stores in a few days. One of those being the Cheesecake Factory. I look forward to checking it out next chance I get.

The current anime we watch are:

Naruto (130 + eps)
One Piece (206+ eps)
Bleach (53+ eps)
Elementar Gerad
Aquarion (19+ eps)
School Rumble (24+ eps)

On regular TV we watch the following at Grandma's house:

My name is Earl (first season)
Joey (second season)
The Office (Second Season)
and occasionally the Apprentice (4th season)

anime saturdays, kids, bo, historical, amusement, friends, daily life
