I really hate when things don't go the way I plan them but some days there is just nothing that can be done about them. My plan for today was to head to Vancouver to visit with Kari. I also had planned to stop by a cola store that Tom told me about and stop by to help out a co-worker who lives in the area with some work stuff.
Well problems with my car that prompted me to take it in yesterday were not fixed by today. I told the mechanics that I would need it today to go out of town but apparently that meant please take your time. -_-
I had borrowed my grandma's car but I can't take that out of town. So I used it to run errands while I was waiting for my car to be fixed. My daughter went with me.
We stopped first to pick up some prescriptions for my grandma that the ER doctor had prescribed her to help with the nausea and dizziness. While waiting in line the lady in front of me struck up a conversation and told me all about her shirt creating business. She was really nice.
From there we headed to Target where I had to pay on my bill and looked around the store a bit. I found a new Cascada CD that I picked up.
After Target my daughter asked to go out to dinner at Sherri's. We headed over and sat down for lunch. The only thing of note here was desert. I was excited about the fresh strawberry cheesecake. My daughter in turn asked for just cheesecake. The waitress never said they didn't have cheesecake, she just brought her a dish with what turned out to be 4 small cubes of cheese cake (no more than 1.5 inches cubed each. When I got the bill I was a little surprised to find that her 4 small cubes of cheesecake were $1 more than my one slice with huge fresh strawberries (to the tune of $4.5!). That's over the top in my opinion. The waitress would have been better off explaining the deal and giving me a choice. -_-
After lunch I headed back through town on a route that took me by the place my car was being worked on. It was 2:45 by then. I saw it sitting outside and made a mental note to call them when I got home. We stopped by and dropped off the medicines for grandma before heading back home.
So around 3 I called the shop and the guy said he was just picking up the phone call me. So I told him it would be about 20 minutes and I would be down to pick it up. I got Bo up so he could help me and we took my grandma's car back before going to pick up mine.
I have to say that despite some things that bothered me, the car was fixed (and fixed right) plus they vacuumed my car. I was actually impressed.
I got home and was just not in the mood to go anywhere anymore. So I messaged Kari to tell her we wouldn't be down and emailed the co-worker to say the same.
This opened up the rest of my day and I didn't know what to do. My sister's kids wanted to come over then so I said that was fine. I spent some time online while the kids visited. Then we headed out to dinner at Taco Time. After dinner we stopped by Blockbuster and rented Cloverfield and Juno. I stuck around just long enough to help Bo get registered at the store (he has a card or we wouldn't even be renting from them).
I then headed to return K-dog to Ingrid (he was getting tired and cranky, and his arm was bothering him).
Once we all got home everyone got settled in the living room to watch Cloverfield. I wasn't interested in watching it tonight but ended up getting sucked in anyway. I have to say that I LOVED it! :D
Naturally after the movie it was time for bed. It was not what I had planned for my Saturday but it was still a good day in the end.
