Turkey Week Day 6

Thursday - Thanksgiving

This day was about as simple as can be. I think I woke up knowing all this because I felt sluggish and tired all day.

That being said we still went out to lunch at Arby's (they were open until 2pm and the only restaurant open in that area). I wasn't really up for Arby's yet again but it was something to do for lunch. Unfortunately we had gotten up and to lunch early for once which mean that the time between lunch and dinner would be long!

When we got back I spent time on the computer working on journal entries and then later my artwork. At some point in there I stopped to watch a replay of the Thanksgiving Day Parade in Times Square. It obviously happened MUCH earlier but it was still fun to watch. ^_^ Somewhere around 5pm it was time to help start with the particulars of dinner. I mashed the potatoes and my daughter helped with cutting the turkey and other side dishes.

Dinner was nice and there was definitely a lot to eat. All that being said and given how hungry I was during the wait between lunch and dinner… I didn't really eat all that much. One serving was enough for me. We sat around talking for quite a while, which is where the random quote came from that I posted yesterday.

After dinner I helped my dad set up his laptop I the front room and connected it to the main TV. Once he was all set up we gathered around and my dad did a slide show of the pictures from his trip to Russia. I wasn't sure what to expect really. I had thought it might be boring but I was pleasantly surprised.

Aside from my dad being disorganized about the pictures, the slide show proved to be really interesting. They are really into their history and are devoted to preserving it. I really enjoyed the pictures of St Petersburg and Red Square.

We took a break half way through the pictures to get dessert. We had a large array of pies and desserts that included Custard and Cheesecake as well as the usual pumpkin pie. One running joke for the evening was asking my dad if he wanted some turkey. My mom had been pretty pushy at dinner suggesting that he was able to have some with his diet. She went just far enough with it that we started to pick up on it and joke about it. So when we got our dessert I asked my dad if he wanted some turkey for dessert. ^_^

After we finished up the slide show it was getting late and I was feeling a bit sick. I have a feeing that something wasn't setting well with me. I woke up with a head ache so it could have just been a bad day for me.

My dad picked up some diet lemon lime soda for me at the store to help my stomach and I headed to bed.
