I’m proud that I’ve been cooking almost every day these couple of weeks
Something new everyday at that
The only problem is that I cook after I come home from work, so our dinner time becomes pretty late
I’m really really glad that
cookpad.com has everything that I can make from whatever the ingredients I have in my fridge. Whatever the combination I want to. It was okra and daikon yesterday.
Okra and Grated Daikon Salad Did you know okra is originated from somewhere in Africa? It is incorporated to Japanese dish so naturally that I always thought okra is Japanese vegetable. Didn’t even know “okra” is an English word… ^^;
Ingredients
- okra
- daikon
- bonito flakes
- soy sauce
(As always, I used random amount for each ingredients… Just use your best judgment, please
)
Steps
- Wash okra.
- Massage okra with salt, so that tiny hair will go away, kinda. Don’t wash away the salt.
- Put okra in boiled water, and boil them for about a minute or two.
- Rinse okra in cold water so that it will keep its green color.
- Cut okra to about 1cm diameter. Make sure you leave head and tail out.
- Grate daikon radish. Use towards the top of daikon, so that it won’t be too spicy. When grating, grate slowly so that it won’t be too spicy.
- Throw away excess water from grated daikon.
- Mix okra, grated daikon, bonito flakes, and pour some soy sauce.
- DONE!
