Both cats are doing wind sprints in the living room. This is somewhat aggravating for them, because our living room has hardwood floors, and their little feetses just can't get good traction on that sort of flooring, even with claws. This means that we can hear scrabbling claws for a couple of seconds before we hear a cat run. It's even funnier to watch. However, my husband, who has to get up in about an hour and a half, does NOT find it funny, as it wakes him up. I tell him that if he'd only let the cats sleep with him, they'd do their exercises when he's not available to snuggle on.
*I* am not allowed to sleep alone. Even if I close the door, a cat will scratch at it and cry until someone-me, my husband, or my daughter-lets the cat in. Or my husband or daughter will wander in and decide to take a nap with me. I am also not allowed to take a shower by myself. One or both cats must be in the bathroom. I guess that they're afraid that I'll slip down the drain, or melt, or something. Usually the little Siamese girl, Sapphire, will watch me, as I am her special human. She likes to keep track of me. Sometimes the tabby male comes in and watches, too, but he generally only watches HIS human, my daughter.
Sapphire usually will stay in the same room with me, unless she needs to do her wind sprints or someone else is eating something. She just came in and settled into an empty box that I keep in this room for her, I guess she's done with her exercises for the night.
I just filtered the water in my sea monkey tank. I have to do this by hand, with coffee filters and disposable cups, because I don't have a real aquarium, just a little 12 ounce tank, which doesn't have an automatic filtering system. Then I hit those shrimp with a triple whammy...I added Plasma to the filtered water (this increases the chances of baby shrimp growing up), put in some Banana Treat (supposed to be a dessert food for the sea monkeys), and then put in a does of Cupid's Arrow (gets them In The Mood). I also topped off their tank with filtered boiled water, as it was getting a little low, and I aerated the water, too. The shrimp are all VERY lively now, though they're not mating. Even the Horndog is not attached to a female right now. I call him the Horndog because he usually IS in a clinch with one female or another. These little sea monkeys stay in a mating clinch for literally days at a time. The Horndog usually is in a clinch for three days, then he swims by himself, then he goes into a clinch with another female. The shrimp have slightly different coloration differences between individuals, and the Horndog's pincers are longer than the other males', so that's how I can tell that HE'S the one who is trying to ensure that I have a new generation of sea monkeys.
I do wonder if I should add a bit of kosher salt every now and then to the tank water, to replace the water and salt lost when I filter the tank.
I think that I might FINALLY be getting over that damned cellulitis attack. I think that the abcessed tooth was related to it, somehow. Either the tooth weakened me enough so that the cellulitis flared up, or I had a low-grade infection that first manifested in my tooth. I don't know. But it's been a long three or four weeks. Each time I have an attack, it takes me longer to get my strength back, and I never come back to where I was before the attack. I'm TIRED of this.
