Do-it-yourself meme.

rue_deday got this idea from juniper200, and now I'm stealing it. Basically, you put a dozen things in a box to introduce yourself to a new person.

An insulin needle (I'm diabetic, and must think of this all the time. I also have other health problems.)

My Straight Dope Staff mug, with a packet of GOOD instant cocoa mix in it.

My Get Fuzzy mug. This mug has a comic strip printed on it, the one where Bucky Katt offers his services to the world as a "slap you upside the head" laureate. For free.

One of my copies of Good Omens, by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman. I love both authors, and I have given away quite a few copies of this book.

Something that I've made myself. A cross-stitch sampler, or a needlepoint book cover, or a crocheted potholder. I do a lot of crafts, and I give away most of what I make. I'd like to point out that people REQUEST some items, like the fleece nightshirt that I made for my dad.

A bag of novelty pasta shaped like the state of Texas. I'm a Texan, even though I don't like football, and my father's parents immigrated from Sicily.

My DVD of The Princess Bride, or possibly the book of the same title.

My ancient copy of Sergeant Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, which is a real album, NOT a CD. It's even got all the little cut-outs and doodads in it. I have a CD of this album, and I usually listen to it, but I listened to the old album quite a lot before there were alternative formats, and it's got the wear to prove it.

A crystal (OK, so it's really acrylic, but it LOOKS like crystal) skull. I have placed a couple of cats' eye marbles in the eye sockets, and I have pasted a piece of paper in the shape of a word balloon coming from its mouth, on which I've printed "Hello, sailor." Some people will recognize the references. Most won't.

A Galileo thermometer. I think this sort of thing is really neat.

One of my old purses. I tend to carry not purses, but small suitcases. RIght now, I'm using a laptop case as a purse. It has so many pockets, and it's so handy. I can carry a couple of hardback books in there, if I want to.

A piece of string.
