Such Is Life
Okay, it looks like my postings will be at random intervals. Anywho!
Holy hell! Early this morning I finished typing up chapter 5 of my epic KH fic--that I can’t post here. ;_; I’ll be posting it on InsaneJournal and at AFF.Net under the same name (Lynn_Stardragon & Lynn Stardragon respectively).
So why am I posting this heads-up here?
Rant time!
So I start writing my uber-epic sized fic of doom at AFF.Net, and all is well and good. Why is all well and good? Because there’s only the main section for KH fics to get sorted into and they get kicked to the top of the list if you update--either by editing or with a chapter at the time.
Spin ahead a a few months and they fix the jumping up the list if you just edit your fic. So now it only goes to the top if you update with a chapter or other major revision.
I’m good with that, it makes me happy really, because I constantly go back and make minor edits if I find out I used a wrong word somewhere that my betas didn’t catch.
Now we scan forward to a few weeks ago . . . .
AFF has gone ape-[censored] and has now activated--because there were allegedly always there, but no one could “see” them--several subcategories that the stories can go into. They took a look at all the RECENT stories’ summaries, and funneled them into categories based on what they said.
So my bitty one-shot got shunted into Male x Male, which is okay because it is, and most of the readers go there first.
My epic--which is my baby--got placed in the ‘General’ category because I say that there’s gonna EVENTUALLY be bisexual happenings. But before that it’s going to be all Males!! I’m not pissed that it got shunted into general because that’s the wrong classification, I’m pissed because who’s gonna think to look there for it?!
And to compound the insult, they haven’t gone through all the fics yet, and they don’t seems to be making an effort to do so. And they still have fics in the main page. Well, hello, why the [censored] is ‘general’ a category if you have the main page? Isn’t the main page, the general KH category?!?!
Gaaahhhh!!!!! Stupid bureaucracy! It’d be one thing if they either categorized or wiped--no duplicate fics are allowed, so yeah--ALL the fics rather that just moving the newer fics. Granted, ‘general’ is a fairly small category, and it will be a no brain-er to find my fic amidst the pages. So, like I said, I have no issues with the categorization.
Only thing that bugs me is if people will keep reading it there . . .
