Mental update

Oct 07, 2005 12:08

i had my "intake" today, which is the first time with the counsellor so they get to know you and find places to work on. it went well. i told her about how i went to the clinic. the dr said i have minimal to mild depression and that i wont have to take anything for it. so that made me happy. so the counselling is to figure out whats wrong. Kristie said that she noticed that i'm more concerned about others than myself so my homework for the next two weeks is to spend 30 minutes a day doing something thats just for me, not thinking or worrying about other people and their problems/situations. we also established that when i'm alone is when i feel the worst. so we need to find out how to fix that. overall i feel pretty good about things. i'm relatively well adjusted enough to handle this. :) so yeah, thats whats going on there.

as for the rest of my life... rehearsals have been fun. got it all blocked and as much detail as we can for now (still having scripts). i'm almost completely off book so thats good. a little pat on my back for that one.

school is going ok. i FINALLY got some ambition and did homework. had a test yesterday for Special Ed. i think i passed it but if not, no worries. this morning i got up early to study for my chicano test which i was positive i'd fail... but you know... i think i passed. :) it was so easy. and next i have a spanish test... this could go either way, but we'll see.

i've been working out regularly again which feels wonderful. i think that is going to help my mental condition as well.

lastly, mom and i have been looking around for a 3 bedroom house so Liz can move in with us. we looked at the outside of one yesterday. i like it so far, but i need to see the inside first. and if we get the place, we can have pets! :D yay! but my cat may not be safe because its right on highway 2. :S scary... he'll definitely be an indoor cat. anyway, other than that, nothing to interesting. except, i read this article today, and just thought it was hilarious... it was in the Spokesman Review... enjoy!

And the winner is...
Maker of fake dog testicles wins Ig Nobel prize
Friday, October 8, 2005

BOSTON- Gregg Miller mortgaged his home and maxed out his credit cards to mass produce his invention - prosthetic testicles for neutered dogs.

What started 10 years ago with an experiment on an unwitting Rottweiler named Max has turned into a thriving business. And on Thursday night Milller's efforts earned the Ig Nobel Prize for medicine.

"Considering my parents thought i was an idiot when I was a kid, this is a great honor," he said.

Given at Harvard University by Annals of Improbable Research magazine, the Ig Nobles celebrate the humorous and odd side of science.

Miller has sold more than 150,000 of his Neuticles, more than doubling his $500,000 investment. The silicone implants come in different sizes, shapes, weights and degrees of firmness.

lol, i love the news sometimes. :) anyway, off to take a test.
