Long fucking day. Ugh.

My favorite days are the ones I spend slaving away for near 12 hours, never taking a moment to eat or drink anything. I got home tonight and had a bite of hummus on a stale tortilla chip, my tongue thought it was the best thing it'd ever touched.

tomorrow i have to work a full day at target, and then I anticipate having to go into the Chop. Kris is out of town until Tuesday DJing a wedding in Philly, which leaves the office in Roy's surely capable but also slightly neurotic hands. Whilst I would not normally go in on a Thursday, I feel he'll be in enough of a panic about something to want me there. While today was a super-long day, it at least ended pretty fun... I got to hang out with The Spill Canvas and Daphne Loves Derby (who I haven't been following closely, but discovered on my own way before they ever got signed). Cool people; Spill Canvas' tour manager comped me a CD, which I infiltrated a radio-station-organized meet and greet before the show to have signed (also got my picture taken, woohoo! we'll see how that turned out when the chick emails it to me. it was kind of a sure, why the hell not kind of situation). I also picked up Daphne Loves Derby's latest, for five bucks yay! and got it signed, also. I just like the novelty and the bragging rights of owning signed things... my internship doesn't pay me, i can at least have some fun and some cool stuff to show for it. Picked up two new t-shirts also, which i'm pretty psyched about. I haven't picked up any new band shirts in a while.

I really hope Roy doesn't need me tomorrow, as I have rented Air Guitar Nation and have a date with Don to watch it.

Oh, Monday I also met Ben Gibbard. Which I happen to think is pretty awesome, and I don't care what anyone else says. That falls under bragging rights, too. Ironically enough, the first thing Gibbard says to me is "we've already met, haven't we?"

I have a clone in Seattle somewhere, or something. I look too damned familiar to a lot of people here.

chop suey, boy, bragging rights, target, seattle
