feline moral dilemma

I need advice from the other pet parents on my Flist.  Please.  (and I know there is sat least one vet who may be reading this)

Elliot was just diagnosed with FIV.  Which I understand is most definitely -not- a death sentence. The vet tells me that with proper care he can lead a full healthy life.  And I don't want to give him away!

Im out on the town but will comment when i get home at my laptop more thoroughly. Most important thing to think about is that if u vaccinate the test will always come up positive after

We had one cat with FIV and two, vaccinated, who never contracted it; He lived with us for many years until he got too ill, but we gave him what I hope was a good, happy life for the years he was with us and the other two are with us still.

Check your other kitties, do the vaccinations if they're all right, and then just let the FIV fellow live as long as he's inclined to. A good vet will keep them all healthy for a good while, I think.

I would def do the test, then vaccinate. Gotta take care of the babies.
