On Sunday of our mini weekend getaway, Mark and I took the Austin Duck Tour. We checked out of the hotel that morning and wanted to be home before dinner, so we didn’t have a whole lot of time to tour the city. I felt the duck tour was a pretty good compromise, though it’s virtually impossible to get decent photographs on a bus.

On Friday night, Mark had to cover a night shift and work from 7pm to 7am. As such, it was difficult for me to get to sleep. I wanted to stay up with him partly to make sure he was okay and partly because I didn’t want to climb into an empty bed. Mark’s parents got the boys a pool so we broke it out Monday when the temperatures broke 100 and had an absolute blast. Mark and I can fit into the pool with the boys, amazingly enough. Mark and I decided to get our drink on after the boys went to sleep tonight. He drank way more than I did and got a little tipsy. I’m not sure we have enough alcohol in the house to get him drunk.

Every year Mark’s parents take the family to a Texas Rangers game to celebrate his mom’s birthday. His parents are HUGE Rangers fans! We’ve never been able to go before, but since we’re living in Texas now, we were able to go! It was a lot of fun.
