Mama Guilt

Mar 07, 2011 09:25

Yesterday the kids were driving me batty. I have no idea why. They were relatively well behaved, but I was in a MOOD.

At one point in the morning, Elias asked to get out the Play-Doh. "Please? Please, Mommy? Please!?"

I said maybe after or during Noah's nap. All I could think about were tiny little playdoh snibbles all over my kitchen floor.

We never played Play-Doh.

I feel like such a heel.

We did dye eggs later in the day (not for Easter, just for fun) and Elias seemed to like that.

I usually try to honor reasonable requests, but when I'm in a MOOD I find that if the request requires a lot of interactivity, set up or clean up I'm much less inclined to agree. I don't want to be a lazy mom. :( My own mom didn't let me do a lot of art projects I asked to do because she didn't feel like cleaning up the mess and I don't want to be that way.

Maybe I'll have the Play-Doh ready for them tonight.
