WARNING EXCEEDINGLY LONG AND VERBOSE POST!It's been (quite) a while since my last update... A lot has and hasn't happened that was worth blogging about, though I always got lazy and just never got around to writing about it... I'm the writer who is too lazy to write. (Sloth is my worst enemy. The animals are cute though ( Read more... )

oh jenn, you make me chuckle sometimes...

and omg, that bookstore! It sounds terribly amazing, except for the fact that I dislike old browning books >_< But the crammed full of books part makes me happy and wish that we had one of those here. When I first read your description of the place, I immediately thought of that bookstore in Beauty and the Beast that Belle used to go to, you know, the one with the rolling ladders? Then I thought of how Hermione Granger would go absolutely ga-ga over that bookstore ( ... )

Haha, it is exactly like the library Belle would have loved! (Hermione too) I can't believe I hadn't thought of it before. Too bad there were no rolling ladders... they have those at Borders though ( ... )

I actually still like Barnes and Nobles more than Borders though, don't quite know why... hmm... *shrugs* probably just cause I go there more and feel like it's a bit bigger. But Barnes and Nobles has been annoying me lately due to all the e-mails they're sending me. *grumble grumble* Maybe I should make a trip there when I go back next week. Dunno what book to buy though... probably another Jane Austen book. Any suggestions? Oh and I finished reading the book you got me for X-mas. It was good and very gripping ( ... )

Hmm... Well I've started reading Middlemarch by George Eliot this week and it's been pretty good, though I'm only still less than 100 pages in. Very Victorian, and more complex than Austen. I think everyone tends to say that Eliot was one of the great social critics along with Dickens of the time, so there's a bit of that vibe too. And I get the vibe that she's not really into happily ever afters, but I guess only time will tell... Tiff recommended Paper Towns by John Green to me, and after reading about 50 pgs in the bookstore this afternoon, it seemed pretty good, if you're into teen/young adult fiction. Haha, I was actually just about to write a post about my bookish interests ( ... )

Ahh I pressed the post button before I finished!

WEEE! I can totally imagine you swishing around your library on your ladder! ^_^

Hmm... I think those book collectors probably are just really avid readers who not only work in a bookstore, but frequent flea markets, other bookstores, etc. for books. And they are probably some kind of lit major too!

As for writing a scathing review, I think they always expect a couple of those. Though there's probably very few books to get published that TRULY suck all over...
