Nearly a month since my last update, so I am eliminating a few minutes from my last second test-making to write.
This week at work has been one directly from hell. Conferences with every single parent (or both parents) from all 25 of my PRIDE students (essentially Homeroom students). Twenty to thirty minutes each. This has taken me all week and every afternoon well into the night to accomplish. And as of 8pm tonight, I am done...
Aside from the test-making for tomorrow's classes. Also the GRE studying and grad school application doing. I am aiming toward my Masters of Education in Spanish. Preferably through a marvelous distance-learning program. I do best teaching myself outside of a classroom. I am a teacher; therefore, I am my own teacher as well.
I adore what I do, though this first year has been all-consuming. It is meant to be that way, though, and I look forward to next year when I have all the worksheets, all the game and all the activities already planned. No more grunt work and last minute things to do. Not to mention I have only recently discovered that the National Spanish Honor Society will grade for me in exchange for earning hours toward keeping their membership in the organization. This has helped me to no end.
GRE cramming is actually quite enjoyable. I miss mathematics; who would have thought? Not calculus, granted, but algebra and trigonometry. I truly am the largest geek to have ever geeked. Including the writing challenge I am doing at the moment and the other writing activity that will officially kick off in June, I am wholly knotted in my talents and my life. Funny thing is - this is when I do best. Apart from my feelings. Dwelling in the realms of my craft, my creativity, and my constant drive toward a series of goals.
So, if I pull away emotionally, fall back into my silence and space, do not take it personally. This is something I do; I cannot break the habit (and I don't think I ever want to).
And I am exhausted. This is enough of an update for the moment. The weekend should prove useful in the potential free time there. Thank god for Fridays.
