Well, I've had quite enough with being looked down upon by BC's grad student population, and finally I decided to storm the graduate mezzanine and declare open season on any of the seats that would normally be reserved for graduate students. I'm like the Rosa Parks of undergraduate studies....now all I need is for somebody to insist that I move out of the mezzanine. Yep, it's pretty sweet here at the top....soaring...like an eagle no less. I worked hard today, I deserved that Mezzanine view. Chemistry was a total bore, thank God for the caffeine that kept me going and slogging out pointless note after pointless note. I was so mentally lost today, As my previous entry stated, I was up rather late into the night last night. I forgot my ID card, so I had to run back to my dorm to get it in order to pay for my breakfast....what a pain in the ass. I even went to my American Civilization class which doesn't meet today. I was shocked when I walked into the empty room, it even took a few moments for my error to hit me. After two tedious discussion groups there was some LTL stuff with Dacia, no real learning took place in class today, I just can't seem to focus at all today. I managed to slog my way through spanish. I contributed alot, so that's a plus, and the second half of the class was spent watching a documentary about Evita (anybody remember her? 1st lady of Argentina? Madonna starred as her in the movie Evita?). A fairly enjoyable lecture regarding the korean war. It's good for me to learn about the conditions and what role my grandfather took in his time in Korea. Professor Jacobs mentioned that the initial US forces were unprepared to deal with the seasonal monsoon rains in Korea, my grandfather was a carpenter who devised a scheme for wooden platforms to elevate the temporary structures so they would not be swept away by the rains. I guess the little things really have a big impact like that. Now, studying for a few hours in Bapst, a review session at 6, and a meal at 7, hopefully I'll be done with most of my work by then and I'll be able to relax this evening. Joanna comes tomorrow, I'm very excited about seeing her, but I think that this trip really snuck up on me. I really haven't done a number of the little things I probably should, like go shopping for some food to eat while she's here, I still need to bug Tanner to get the bathroom code so she can use the women's room in Cheverus and I know there are a few other things I'm forgetting. Nevertheless, I will have everything prepared for her arrival. I'll have to allot some time in which to straighten out my room so it doesn't look quite so messy, maybe change the sheets and what have you. Make sure to take your place on the Graduate Mezzanine and demand your rights as a tuition paying student. UNDERGRADUATES OF THE WORLD UNITE!!!!!!
