I finished Sense and Sensibility. And, naturally, I had to watch the dvd. Which is a little thin after reading the book. I think Austen did lose momentum at the end and just started telling us things, Marianne started to think that Colonel Brandon was supercoolnice and they got married and happily lived a supercoolnice life. The movie rearranged things so Brandon was more the romantic hero and who could resist Alan Rickman reading poetry to you.
I’d forgotten Hugh Laurie had a small part, but he is always welcome.
I’m reading the second Frodo book now. I’m finding it easier to read sitting outside, the light is better for the small print and orangey pages. I get through more of it; I’m going to try to incorporate some yard time every day.
