Sinead O'Connor's,
Bob Dylan's versions.
I've been coming across many folk songs sang by Sinead O'Connor, who I know rather little about. I remembered that unpleasantly high-pitched part of the song that was big in the 80's. Later I heard about the televised cropping of Pope's portrait (it was my second year in LA--I was bedridden for a week with flu, and watched a lot of VH1, which ended up being a crash course in musical culture in its historical context pertaining last few decades). The pathos of destroying the picture and all that crazy pastor stuff that followed kind of derived my interest away, but musically I think the lady knows what's up.
