this evening's post will be in the format of a game show! erm, sorta anyways... but yeah!
Door #1: New peeps
So I know theres a bunch of new peeps on my flist due to a variety of friending memes! its awesome to have you here ^^ Just wanted to drop a few words about myself first. I don't really post very regularly (i'm working on that), but i'd say its about once a week, and usually late at night. content is usually pretty varied as you can tell from this post, but I tend to lj-cut into oblivion to save your flist. also, occasionally i post things that are, shall we say... beyond R rated. For the most part, I have those specially flocked or at least ALWAYS behind a cut, so no worries, you won't be seeing those things unless you want to (and drop me a line if so, as i never really assume that others are interested). lastly, you're welcome to come or go as you please. I'm not going to take offense if me or my content are not your cup of tea (though i hope i am... ^^)
Door #2: Party time
Oh my goodness, its been a crazy little bit. Well, sorta not really. I've mostly been hanging around my apartment playing FFXI. I finally got my BLU to 42! (I was stuck at 39 for the looooooongest time :/) I cut my hair again. There really isn't much there to cut anymore... um, the doc says that i'm basically healthy... hmmm, what else... OH! last night I dreamed that I met Capt. Fine, and that he knew me, and he was happy to be in seattle. He was also rather excited for Kill Bill Vol. 3 (in which the daughter goes after beatrix?), and then he gave me his left over sushi. Even in a dream, being in such close proximity to his beard was pretty awesome. Otherwise, my life has been relatively unexciting.
Door #3: Read that
man, i've been reading a lot of stuff. not things that one should really tell their parents about, though. ^^; I finally read Batman and Son (it wasn't as amazing as I had heard), I've finished Young Justice (Slo-bo! ;.;), I picked up the new Kurosagi Corpse Delivery Service (wait, is the overall plot progressing yet?), and have started to poke my nose into Impulse and Tim's run as Robin. Also, I haven't recently recapped local/current stuff:
- Power Girl is exciting! its kinda silly and fun, but the art is what has me hooked :3 I also like that its pretty stand alone. Anyone could pick it up and not really be all that confused.
- Olympus is soooo beautiful. The pencils give me hope for my own work one day, and I'm really curious to see where the plots going.
- Batman and Robin... well, I just picked up the second one today. I gotta say, I'm loving the Grayson/Alfred dynamic. Alfred really needs some more of the spotlight, at least in this series.
- Red Robin I picked up because of *cough*aravistarkheena*cough* what was going on in Batman and Robin. I was a little put off by all the batman poses and how young tim still looks (has the boy never aged?), but otherwise i'm liking it.
- Booster Gold featuring Blue Beetle is not quite what I hoped it would be. I'm kinda out of touch with what has been happening with BG, so that fault is really my own. But come on, a giant robot fight for Beetle? Where some dude from way back created it? This sounds to me like the monster-dog issue. It seems like in the next one they'll expand on it and make it much more unique. I hope they follow through.
- Gotham City Sirens actually isn't half bad (well, obviously, considering who's on it), but just like PG, for me I see this a a fun/silly romp, and I'm really okay with them not getting too serious. I think its about time that the crown ladies of crime got their own spotlight.
- Invincible was... difficult to read. They better turn it around next issue, or I may drop it (and I totally just caught up too! :/)
Door #4: Sexy men
Step right up! Ladies (and gents?), I present to you this evening a page from my sketch book!
It features a rather curly-haired Anton and an almost proportionate Robin! SFW!
just to explain myself, i've been trying to conserve paper, so I just sketch drawings on top of each other now. If I end up inking one of these I'll post em proper like and such (aka on DA), i'll let you know. (so basically, yes, I have been drawing a lot, but not anything really worth posting as of yet)
Door #5: Made fresh
So considering the rather positive response (not including my inability to spell-check ^^;) I got for my icon post, I will be doing another! I'm thinking maybe a few more Blue Beetle, of course, but I'd like to do some Young Justice, Chuck, Burn Notice, and the 1940s Superman cartoon (my mom just got it for me! SO AWESOME!!!). HOWEVER! If you would like to request an icon (specific to what I've listed above or even something completely new/different!), please do so now! With the last batch I kinda just made 'em aimlessly, and so this time I'd like a little direction, if anyone is willing ^^ keep in mind that I like to feature one or two characters with a bright background and a bit of text. I'm cool with downloading whatever it is for the most part, but if you already have the source image you want, a link would be nice~ If this sounds like something you'd like, lemme know!
TL;DR version: Awesomeness abounds! YOU KNOW YOU WANT IT!
