If I were to draw a continuum between fear and lust, I would saw Maude is rapidly oscillating between those two states.  When I come into her room, she's crouched in or behind her cat bed, seeming to glare at me.  But when I come closer, she starts to do her happy paw dance.  Her toes are a sort of silvery brown, but between them is black fur.

This is the second time this afternoon that I've offered Maude food.  It's Fancy Feast Shrimp and Fish dinner.   It stinks.

She is just now starting to eat it.  I'm 5 feet away, on the computer, rooting her on.

Two kittens made their way to CityKitties under dubious circumstances and, it turns out, they're feral. Lou saw one of them once, under a bed. The other one will let herself be seen by her foster dad, but that's the extent of the deal.

Since I'm an idiot of the cat lady variety, I volunteered to take the one who howls all night. Maude.
