Dodgeball in LA

I loved dodgeball in H.S. Well at St. Paul we actually called it Nation Ball. Split the P.E. class in half, each team standing opposite sides of the gym and like 6 or 7 rubber (or maybe some form of leather I don't recall) volleyballs placed in the center of the gym. Whistle would sound, and each team running center to collect the balls and the throwing of balls. The elimination of getting hit on the side of the head would commence.
Goodtimes, S'rsly! Loved it! And yes I was one of those that was always used as a shield. That's what you get when you are a little bit bigger than teh average bear. Oh, yeah and I was definitely a head hunter too!
I can see it now, a team of bears in short shorts called, "Bear Balls"!
