I have thought about posting a zillion different things here over the last week and somehow never actually posted any of them.

It's hard to explain, especially since I'm not actually in one and there's a lot I don't know about them. Basically, a sorority (meaning sisterhood in Greek) is kind of like a club with really strict rules that you have to "rush"* or sort of audition to get into. There are different kinds and a lot of girls in college "rush" and each sorority picks the girls from the group they want to join their sorority. They do all different types of activities -- from charity work to parties. It's very involved, and they have all different kinds of rules you have to follow (like on Tuesday you must wear this pink T-shirt, not all of them are that silly but that was a rule for one them).
It's really not for me. But they can be very good because they allow you to meet a lot of people and get you involved in all kinds of things.
*I don't know why it's called "rush", but it is.
