Getting back on track

Jan 01, 2012 12:39

2011 was horrible in terms of dw and fandom. I started doing so much for my rl and spanish that I sort of fell off the radar. And each year I promise myself I'm not going to let it happen and each year... I let it happen. So, here as to try not to fall off the wagon again...

Day 1

In your own space, post a rec for at least three fanworks that you have created. It can be your favorite fanworks that you've created, or fanworks you feel no one ever saw, or fanworks you say would define you as a creator. Drop a link to your post in the comments.

Space Cowboys This mega au that has years in the making is probably the story I'm most proud off (that doesn't involve torturing Justin Timberlake that much). Ten chapters and counting, all losely based on the Larger than life video and the Space Cowboys song... and I love it.

The Timberlake effect and, since it's pretty much the other half of the coin, It's a wonderful life... or is it? which are my double 'let's torture Justin in fun and interesting psychological ways' stories. I guess I would need to find a third plot to make it an official trilogy. I don't like Justin, and this two stories were my way of dealing with that dislike without resorting to bashing fics. And the result was, for me at least, quite interesting in terms of world building. I love world building, it's my favorite part of all fics.

And for a non-popslash rec...

Rainbow Brite DoujinshiThis is a work in progress, as I don't have a lot of time to draw pages lately, but I'm so, so proud of it. It's my own retelling of the origin of Rainbow Brite, because I loved her as a child. I'm such a geek, I guess. The funny thing is, I started it before the new dolls and the revamp were announced. Timing, I guess...
