Headed to Colorado
Bit of a wait and such but finally picking up in Phoenix, Arizona headed to Denver, Colorado. Delivery date is the 21st early morning I think it was 0500. Did some short weight walks here at the shipper while I wait for a door to back into. Trailer is cooling to -10 degrees for this trip. Nice and warm out here had to get into shorts and tank. Putting on sunscreen in winter feels weird. Yesterday there was no parking anywhere for me at the truck stops in Tolleson or Phoenix so I had to park in the lot of one of my companies regular customers. Not generally the best business practice type thing to do but what were my options? I hate parking out on the streets with no bathroom access for more than 24 hours no way. There are challenges in trucking that some would view as sub-human. I know I’m not a fan of the porta potties, dirty litterers, dirty bathrooms, weak water pressure over priced cold showers, lengthy unpaid waiting, etc etc. The pay is great though for uneducated folk. It’s all about being disciplined, responsible, safe, prepared, and accountable. This is mostly how I try to conduct my business as a company driver although sometimes I fail miserably in being reasonable and measured.
