Title: "Smoke Gets in Your Eyes" Author:luvvycat Characters: Jack Sparrow, Cutler Beckett Rating: PG Prompt(s): Eyes and Smoke Word count: 100 Disclaimer: PotC is Disney's, not mine. *sniff*
It is indeed. Definitely a life-changing moment for Jack. :-(
I want more pre-CotBP fic like this.
There does seem to be precious little pre-CotBP Jack stories (unless I've just not been looking in the right places). This event was such a turning point in Jack's life, one feels that it just HAS to be explored!
Thank you so much for reading, and for your Comments! Believe me, they're much appreciated! :-)
Missed you beacoups dear miz cat...don't mind that you go just like having you back! Makes it less dull, more interesting and somewhat superior in quality! That said...I missed ya, glad you've a bit of a breather and pleased you're interested still in that wonderful world I love.
"his breaking heart knew otherwise." Says it all those few words. Nothing like Jack separated from the Pearl, even before she was the Pearl. His attitude when he found out from Barbossa in the new one, well that was something. Jack has such belief in himself, in his ability to prevail. can't ever imagine him just putting his head down and going I give...that's one part of his beauty for me, truly, he lives, he survives, he is...thank you for this sad one, a little wonder.

Thank you. It's so nice to be missed, though I wish it had been an absence for fun reasons than one more or less "forced" by current circumstances. :-(

The bond must have been very strong from the get-go. That Jack was desperate enough to make a devil's bargain with Davy Jones to get her back speaks volumes about how much he loved that ship!

That's one PotC scene that never loses it's impact- possibly the single saddest moment in a life dotted with nadirs.
It's quite a testament to Jack's resilience, and his inner strength, that he can survive and come back from such adversities. A truly admirable quality!
Here's hoping Jack and Pearl will be truly reunited in the next movie.
I'm hoping that will be the theme of PotC5 -- Jack seeking to restore the Pearl from the magicks that were worked upon her by Blackbird. (And, honestly, if he does get her back to her "old self" again, Jack really must learn to keep a closer watch on her!) ;-)
Thank you so much for reading, and Commenting! :-)

I'm finding that typo disproportionately amusing, just 'cause I can picture how Mr. Teach would respond. :D
Yikes! That's what I get for trying to sneak in a few "quickie" LJ replies at work before the boss catches me! Haste makes waste (and hilarious typos) I guess! :-/

'ello Luvvycat, another most wonderous drabble you've given us here. This is so sad, made me just want to cuddle Jack all the more. My heart was breaking along with his, and my eyes filled with moisture just from reading this glorious tidbit.

Wow! What a lovely, lovely compliment! I'm glad you were so affected by my 100 words! But you're right, that was an extremely sad time in Jack's life. :-)
(BTW, I'm all for cuddlesome pirates! Particularly if they also happen to be gorgeous!) ;-)
