Since I haven't been online for ages... SXSWi was really awesome. I got tons of great ideas, validation for some things I was doing, and inspiration from all the smart, creative people. None of us got the t-shirt we were supposed to get, and our administrative person is being quite vigilant about making sure we do. (Collectively we are all like, well, we didn't know and it's too late now. I think she is planning to wring out a refund or get us some shirts, come heck or high water.)
Kitties are all good. Every once in awhile, Ra, the neighbor cat, pokes his head over the fence to see if little kitty is around for him to chase. It's pretty funny.
I think I'm dropping the XHTML/CSS class. I'm not at all impressed with the instructor and I'm not really learning anything that I can't learn out of the book. He barely knows what he's doing outside of the books. I may write ACC and let them know what I think. I'm tossing $200, but I have better things to do with my Sundays, I think.
I DID start a running class, which is pretty cool. They promise to have me running five miles by the end of the 10 week class. It's a combo run/walk thing, and the whole point is to keep you from getting injured. This is something I thought I could never do, so it's a pretty big deal.
I have the plague. I am "colonized" by a staph infection and have my 4th one in 3 months. I've always been subject to these on the surface in my eczema, but not subcutaneously. I haven't been able to see my regular doc since the first one, but the good news is that the doc I saw this time actually took some time with me, unlike the last one. He had a rational, reasonable explanation for why such a thing can recur, and how to prevent it. Not "I don't know why you'd be having repeated problems."
All right, I should wrap up and get ready for work. First meeting is at 9:30 and then I won't be master of my own time until after 5 when everyone leaves. Bleh.
