Resuming my Hobbies
For many moons now I have been putting off my hobbies, and I am planning on resuming them with a vengeance. My plan is to be able to make everyone Christmas gifts this year, instead of just buying them things. We'll see how well this turns out.
1. Knitting: I just started this last year, but I really like it, and am hoping to get better. To date, my only completed project was a little baby hat, but it did turn out really well. (If we ignore the fact that it was supposed to be for
phearidmond 's huge head.) A sub-category of knitting: Crocheting. I want to figure out how to do this as well.
2. Sewing: I asked for a sewing machine from my parents for Christmas last year, and got it (yay!) But I have yet to use it. I plan on fixing that. It really upsets me that I have it and haven't used it yet. Looks like a quick perusal of sewing for dummies will be in order.
3. Cooking: I love cooking; it can be difficult to get up the motivation to fire up the oven when it's 100 degrees outside though! Around the holidays I always get into baking (it can be really easy to be motivated to turn on the oven when it is 30 degrees outside :) )
4. Jewelery Making: Lots of fun, too many little parts that can be stolen by cats or ferrets. I must be vigilant.
I keep putting off such things until I've gotten room X clean, or until I've taken the GRE (done! hah!) , or until after something has happened... you get the picture. Well, no more laziness I say! Down with Procrastination! It is time for Heather to become CRAFTY!
