We've managed to get most of our stuff into the new place. (Except for the ferrets, the shoes, the computer and computer desk, and clothes that hang up.) I need to freecycle/craigslist/goodwill a number of things, including a Queen size box spring, a crock pot, a bread machine, clothing, a kitchen table and chairs, a box of books and movies, a car bike rack, a wall-mounted bike rack, and large floating shelf (Sam did say that she might take that)
Last night was the night from hell. Here's a brief run-down.
1) No food. Tried to get lunch at Subway... out of veggie patties. Lunch consisted of three slices of left over little ceasar's pizza, split between the Phi and myself.
2) shopping trip. To Wal-Mart super center, on a Sunday afternoon... Need I say more?
3) We moved the cat. First he used the bathroom (yes, both) all over himself as soon as we got him and his carrier into the car. What a lovely aroma.
4) Upon reaching the new house, I had to bathe the cat. I avoided getting scratched... my bathroom got completely soaked.
5) The cat screamed and yowled all night until I opened the door to his room (at about 2:30 am) and let him have free reign of the house. He celebrated by hiding under the bed all night, but at least he did it quietly. (I'm so tired right now, I might fall asleep when we go to the chicken houses in an hour or so... ok, probably not. I don't think I could ever be that tired)
Other crazy moving stuff to do list includes:
Borrowing a ladder to cut back the Holly Tree from the black lagoon
Getting the landlord to clean out the gutters, which are completely choked with pine needles. (This means a call to his daughter, who does speak english)
Getting some chicken wire to rope off part of the back yard or else building some outdoor tables so that Pip won't be pee-ing all over my veggies and herbs!
Decoration... nothing is as depressing as plain white walls staring at you with their cold lifeless faces.
But at least I can rejoice that I no longer have a giant loud scary upstairs neighbor to annoy me, and I have a backyard!
