I went to my oral surgeon today and got a bunch of x-rays... and the final word? I'm going to be getting surgery one week from today (6/22) to remove all 4 of my wisdom teeth. The bottom two are partially impacted and the top two are right on their heels.
The doctor was very nice, he's Jewish and has very small hands (which I guess you need). Right now, in preparation, I'm about to head out and get some drugs for next week (which begin the day before the procedure: Mitrol (a steroid which cuts swelling in half), Amoxicillin (general do-all bacteria killer, iirc) and the most important: vicodin! I'll be flying off the walls for 3 days after the procedure, whee!
Anyways, I'm kind of nervous, but then again, I just want to get this stuff all done while A) I'm still covered by my parents' insurance and B) I still have time to fix and and C) because this one tooth that's impacted right now REALLY hurts and also D) I want to be perfecto before my Texas trip and not in pain.
To tell ya the truth, I'm really quite scared and I just wish Katherine were here to coach me through it. Although I know it's a harmless procedure, I've never been under general anesthetic before.
Otherwise today I watched England not-quite-utterly-kick Trinidad's ass in the World cup semi-semi finals. The score ended up being 2-0, both points which were scored in the final 5 minutes of play. Next match I plan on watching is US vs. Italy... which is saturday afternoon. Anyways, after I watched the match, I fell asleep until 4PM, woke up, and now I'm here.
