So Montreal was seriously cool. I can't believe I'm Canadian and have never been there before. Friday and Saturday were mostly spent shopping. Friday at the Eaton's centre & St. Catharine's street, and Saturday at Holt Renfrew, Ogilvy's and a bunch of vintage stores. I actually didn't buy as much as I thought I was going to. All I got was
this pair of black flats from Aldo (I was pretty much forced into buying these since my old flats were pretty much falling apart and smelled awful), an amazing vintage Yves Saint Laurent silk scarf, and
this Chanel eyeshadow palette. I can't believe I went to one of the best fashion centres in Canada and came out with only three things.
Sunday was spent at museums and such. We went to the science centre in the morning, just cause I'm nerdy like that, then did a horse & buggy tour around Old Montreal, and then went to the Pointe-a-Callière museum in the afternoon. The buildings there are gorgeous. You don't see that kind of architecture here in Burlington or Toronto.
We also went out for dinner at two amazing places - Otto in the W Hotel and a really nice Italian one. Otto was flipping expensive, but really good food. Plus the drinking age is only 18 in Quebec, so I had a cocktail with dinner, most of the time (they don't even card there - and I definitely don't look my age, so I was a bit surprised).
And the most exciting part - there was a celebrity staying at our hotel! It was a bit weird actually because the previous night, we had watched "Because I Said So" with Mandy Moore and Diane Keaton, and then it turns out that the actor playing Johnny in that movie was staying at our hotel. He's played by Gabriel Macht, who I guess is filming a movie in Montreal. Anyway, we did the nice thing and didn't bother him but that was still pretty cool.
