it's a good week for my music collection

so i can listen to my ipod at work... meaning i listen to my ipod for about 7 hours of the 7.5 i'm officially "on the clock." as some of you may have already heard, i kind of like arctic monkeys. in fact, i now officially OFFICIALLY have every album, b-side, demo, etc. plus a few more (as of last friday i was missing 2 b-sides and 2 japan-only album tracks.) soooo... i didn't want to burn myself out on them, as i was pretty much listening to them for 7 hours a day x 5 days a week = 35 hours a week. bad. so about a month ago i started looking for other bands i might like, and i found the fratellis. and i LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE them as well. i do not have ALL of their b-sides, unreleased live tracks, etc. yet, but i am well on my way... so then i decided i didn't want to burn myself out on THEM either, so i started checking out NME.com as i know they are obsessed with arctic monkeys and thought i'd take some suggestions from them.

i have been to the nashua newbury comics three times in the past week. here are my purchases (although one is actually from itunes, cut me some slack.)

in no order:
01. kaiser chiefs - employment
02. kaiser chiefs - yours truly, angry mob
03. hard-fi - stars of cctv
04. hard-fi - once upon a time in the west
05. razorlight - up all night
06. razorlight - razorlight
07. the fratellis - flathead ep
08. kasabian - kasabian
09. the thrills - let's bottle bohemia
10. spoon - ga ga ga ga ga
11. supergrass - supergrass is 10
12. rooney - calling the world*
13. hot hot heat - elevator

the best part of all of this: the most expensive thing was the spoon album, which clocked in at $12 (used). stars of cctv and up all night were both unopened, but apparently sold back to newbury comics anyway, so i got them at the used price... less than $5 each.

in conclusion, i love that store and i have bought it out of decent music.

* i am not claiming that the rooney cd is decent music--i just happened to see it and i was like "whoa, i always wondered what happened to them" and it was cheap so i bought it... a couple of songs are catchy, but the rest is... not so great. if you were wonder, no, they have still not learned how to rhyme and therefore their songs sound ridiculous.

i could review each of these for you as i have listened to all of the albums at length, but i won't unless prompted (i could type forever.) i'll just let you know that my personal favorites at the moment are employment, stars of cctv, and once upon a time in the west. the razorlight albums are growing on me, which is good as i am going to see them at the middle east with katie in a month and a half.
