change of luck

This fall has been stressful and difficult for a variety of reasons, both personal and at work.  This week, however, my luck has changed.  I was notified that I have been awarded a sabbatical for fall semester next year, the administration has given my department the thumbs up to advertise two one-year positions for next academic year (the alternative was going from a department of 6 to 3 people), and my student from last year won first place for her presentation at a national meeting yesterday.

I am also really excited about the discussions we are having lately at board meetings for FLMR.

So, a good week, when I was in the pits of despair.
