I've tried a bunch of things in the past few weeks, so I thought I'd write a little review/thoughts post!
for background info - i have short chin length naturally wavy frizzy hair. i use a straight iron on it to control the fluffball and also box dye my grays once every 3 months or so. I try to go as long as I can with that, and I would also love to look into the henna! My skin type is oil slick to the extreme. My face is super super shiny an hour after washing it.
soooo...
Here we go!
Dark Angels - I LOVE THIS. Its much easier to apply and mix then Herbalism. It is very scrubby and smells awesome. It smells like the herb liquorish, not the stinky black candy. I normally hate the smell of liquorish, but for some reason I love the way DA smells. I have REALLY REALLY oily skin and have been using this every other day with good results! My face feels super soft and looks glowing. Only caveat - it is super messy and only use this in the shower. It rinses off my shower with no problems.
Vanishing Cream - I really love the lavender smell of this!! I have been using this at night and Enzymion in the day. I haven't noticed much difference in the appearance of spots except for one little spot under my chin.. it looks much lighter!! I don't have much discoloration to begin with, but YMMV. I would say it does the same as Enzymion in regards to keeping the oil at bay. I really like this stuff!
Jasmine and Henna Fluff Ease - to me this stuff smelled HORRIBLE!!! ! ! It smelled like rotten jasmine in a jar of piss. It wouldn't go away either, not even after box dying my hair!!! I didn't notice any difference in the way my hair felt I was too flipped out over the nasty smell! Luckily I only got a sample of this! yarg!!
H'suan Wen Hua Hair Treatment - WOW this stuff smells like pumpkin pie to me!! I really like the smell. I got the sample bottle in the hair kit and only used a little bit to coat the ends of my chin length hair. I tend to only use things a teeny bit the first time to avoid greaseball looking hair by the end of the day. My hair feels awesome and soft after using this! I definitely like it and will continue using this!
Jungle Conditioner - I first used this and just rubbed a chunk on my head but felt it wasn't doing the job and took forever. My hair was nice and soft and really enjoyed it. The next day I tried smooshing a chunk with the warm water and turning it into a paste and put it through my hair. The next day my bangs and top of my head was super, super greasy! ew! I haven't used it since. Maybe I should try it again a different way? I dunno..
American Cream conditioner - I used this after using the HWH hair treatment and shampooing with a squeaky green shampoo puck. My hair feels really soft, I just used a teeny bit on the ends of my hair and it feels really nice and can run my fingers easily through my hair. I love it! The smell is awesome too, very light.
That is it for now!
so here are some questions -
when switching to lush shampoo/conditioners will it take a week of icky hair and then once the hair gets used to the no -cones will it look better? I want to wash my hair less, but it gets so oily which i am assuming is because i wash it too much. i wash it once a day.
I got a little bottle of Helping Hands and I hate the smell! Can I add a little bit of essential oils to it to make it smell better?
to the henna users - how well does it cover gray hair?? (i tried to look on the forums for this but got lost in the 99 pages! ahh!)
