Me: you know how I told you there was a castle and it's my favorite part cause it reminds me of a certain best friend of mine for half an hour every day?
Crispy: yea i remember that
Me: okay so today Nicolaus kept climbing in and out of the castle...
Me: Do you want to go down the slide Nicolaus?
Nicolaus: No! I am a knight!
Me: A knight? Oh my! But aren't you missing something?
Nicolaus: (gasps dramatically with the cutest face)
Nicolaus: I need a princess!! (he starts looking around)
Nicolaus: Miss Laurie!! Will you please be my princess?
Crispy: "No Nicolaus! I'm too busy for your childish games! And I hate castles."
As sweet as the story was, "a princess" is not what I thought he was missing.
"Shoes" are what I thought he was missing.
