FINALLY I'M DONE (it took long enough)
I can't believe it took me 20 days to finish Harry Potter 7. TWENTY FREAKING DAYS. And frankly, it was underwhelming.
That's it? It's done? I sent $18+tax on that??
Alright, I'm not exactly a huge Potter addict *hides wand and cosplay robes*, but I can't help but feel like my expectations weren't met. Sure the ending was fitting and as believeable as it gets in the wizarding world and loaded with action, but I just wasn't thrilled. I felt like, "Oh wow, I finished another book, now I should move on to manga my summer reading list." It's probably because I wasn't surprised, as my "friends" totally spoiled it all for me. >:O
Something I didn't like was the pacing. It was pretty slow in the beginning. Usually they're all like that, but in this one it didn't pick up too much in the middle. Search after search, quest after quest, they had like ten missions to do and the story felt like it wasn't going anywhere. Yeah, that's another thing I didn't like: the plot was pretty thick to me. Maybe it's because I don't remember all the tiny details in the past books or any details at all that are significant in DH or I like things simple but DH was quite heavy. Literally.
And then with a bang, all of the solutions are shoved in your face in the last few chapters, which moved extremely quickly. HARRY'S LOCATION IS REVEALED! WAR BETWEEN DEATH EATERS AND STUDENTS ENSUES! HARRY DESTROYS THE HORCRUX! HARRY DISCOVERS THE TRUTH ABOUT SNAPE! HE MEETS LORD VOLDY AND DIES! ...but THEN HE COMES BACK TO LIFE! (which kind of confused me...Dumbledore just CAN'T talk in normal English) AND THEN HE KILLS LORD VOLDY! YAYYYY! CELEBRATE! Epligue. Mmm. Screeching halt much?
But you know what I loved here? Like seriously loved so much that I almost don't regret buying this anymore? Snape's story. OMG Snape's story was so tragic and bittersweet it made me want to hug him. >.< I have a huge thing for misunderstood, star-crossed lover characters not that I come across them too often but... D'awwww Snape! I had no idea...it's okay, your fandom will help you cope ^___^ Oh wait. That's right, he died.

Severus. Albus Severus. *shudders* Ughhh JKR WHY Harry and Ginny. GINNY??? She should've made him go with Luna. Luna is 1230498eoopw03w9482pqowewid times more awesome than Ginny. Grrr they don't look like they match. I just don't like them. But I'm glad Hermione ended up with Ron who would've taken her anyway?. And at least they have better naming skills than Harry and Ginny. Rose and Hugo. James, Lily, and ALBUS SEVERUS. I will never get over that. I don't know if JKR meant for it to be FUNNY, but I'm not exactly ROFLing now. What I really want to know is what happened to Neville and Luna. They have lives too! Maybe THEY got together. :3 And George. Awww George!!!!!! I can't believe FRED DIED!!!!!! DDDDD: I loved those twins, they're like my real life British Hikaru and Kaoru :< Did anyone else notice the similarity between them? Are all twins like that? Man I love twins :D
Reading over that last paragraph it seems like I could care less about the Boy Who Lived, the actual main character in the book. XD Oh, who gives a crap about him anyway?
Other stuff: So anyway I got new glasses and my perscription went up I must be like a hair closer to blindness. I think I'll get contacts next since they say they help your eyes or whatever. I want purple contacts. That would be really cool :D Except it wouldn't go too well with my hair and skin tone. Maybe green....lol XD Also I've suddenly became addicted to Lucky★Star. I think I judged the first few episodes too soon but I've come to the conclusion that Izumi Konata is the freaking most awesome female anime character ever devised. SHE IS SERIOUSLY FULL OF WIN. And her seiyuu too :3 She voiced Suzumiya Haruhi, so there's instant bonus points. ILY HIRANO AYA. And KyoAni too =D I wanna get into Kanon but episode 1 bored the hell out of me. I'll write an actual post about this some other time. Now I'm gonna take a bath ^__^
