I thought it was a bit strange yesterday when the surgery scheduler kept saying, "if you need it..."
I met with the vascular surgeon this morning, and the more symptoms I described, the more attentive he became. After he recommended the procedure, I asked if he really thought it was TA. His reply was that of all of the suspected cases he'd seen, mine was the most reasonable fit to the diagnosis. Apparently, this is something that is more often suspected than true.
I now have a (very sore) 4 inch incision on my right temple about a centimeter into the hairline. It's glued together with surgical glue. Lots of glue. In my hair. Luckily, when I got my hair cut over Thanksgiving, I had the stylist cut it so that I could flip it either way. So it parts on the left for now.
The results should be in early next week. If it isn't TA, then we've got to track it down.
